Gael Greene

The First Fabulous Foodie of the Twentieth Century

Gael Greene's "Insatiable Critic" column ran in New York Magazine from 1968 to 2000 and was one of the most influential food columns in America. Mark and Francis read it religiously. Gael had a ring-side seat to the development of the modern American restaurant and contemporary-American cuisine. Her memoir touches on great food, great sex (liasons with the likes of Elvis Presley, Burt Reynolds, Clint Eastwood, and Gilbert Le Coze), famous people and fabulous times. She was the first fabulous foodie of the 20th century.

She also, along with James Beard, started City Meals on Wheels in 1981.

The Restaurant Guys

Who Are The Restaurant Guys? Every week, Francis Schott and Mark Pascal host the Restaurant Guys, a show that's as informative as it is fun. Francis and Mark own Stage Left Restaurant in the heart of New Brunswick's theatre district, and, along with their expertise in a wide range of fine dining and wine matters, they bring to the table humor and intelligent conversation, perfect for the midday listener. The show includes discussions and interviews with famous chefs, restaurateurs, wine and food writers, critics; and the Guys even give stuff away occasionally.
