Chad Ward

Chad Ward is an accomplished North-Carolina-based, writer and blogger, who mainly showcases his knowledge about food and kitchen gear. His most recent work, "An Edge in the Kitchen" is an comprehensive guide to selecting, purchasing, using, and maintaining what he calls the most valuable tools in the kitchen: your knives. Ward brings to the table his experience as a chef and his obvious passion for the topic in a thorough presentation of knife types, steel grades, cutting techniques, and sharpening skills. His book is chock full of thoughtful advice about how to select the perfect knife for your needs and offers tips about how to avoid bad buys. "An Edge in the Kitchen" has topped Michael Ruhlman's Books Worth Reading List, Slate Magazine's Best Books of 2008 List, and the Chicago Tribune's Best 2008 Food Books.
