Mark Doherty
Winemaker, Hirsch Vineyards
The Guys welcome Mark Doherty to trace his path from restaurant manager in New Jersey (where Francis worked for him way back when) to winemaker at the prestigious Hirsch Vineyards in Sonoma. Hirsch Vineyards has long grown grapes for such notable producers of Pinot Noir as Flowers, Littorai and William Selyem. Hirsch started bottling its own wines starting in 2001 and Mark has the exciting job of heading up this project.
The guys also discuss the Gallup poll finding that wine has finally overtaken beer as America's #1 adult beverage. They also discuss milk: whole, skim, organic and un-pasteurized.
