A Restaurant Guy

“I’ve told so many people that [Restaurant Guys Radio] is basically Car Talk for Food, and I mean that in the most positive way. I don’t know how often you guys listen to Car Talk but that’s quite a compliment.” >> Listen: hi | lo

Deborah Koons Garcia

Plus: Audrey Saunders and the Pegu Club

You may know of Deborah Koons Garcia as the widow of Jerry Garcia. But she is also the writer and director of the riveting new documentary, THE FUTURE OF FOOD.

It's a riveting and in-depth investigation into the disturbing truths behind the genetically modified (or GMO) foods that have been quietly filling grocery store shelves, unlabelled and unnoticed. It's also about the rather disturbing and dirty politics behind that food. It's a clarion bell for those of you who may not realize that due to recent changes in law, companies are able to patent life itself and very few companies are trying very hard to control the food supply for all humans. Sound crazy? See the movie and decide for yourself, but the evidence is pretty strong.

The film is playing in New York at the Film Forum through Tuesday, Sep 27th.

If you are in the neighborhood, one of the best cocktail bars in Manhattan just opened up a few blocks away. Audrey Saunders is one of the best bar keeps in the country and her new Pegu Club is elegant, and refined.
