A Restaurant Guy

“I’ve told so many people that [Restaurant Guys Radio] is basically Car Talk for Food, and I mean that in the most positive way. I don’t know how often you guys listen to Car Talk but that’s quite a compliment.” >> Listen: hi | lo

Stephen Beaumont

Stephen Beaumont has been writing about beer for over 15 years and was Canada's first national beer columnist. As he describes it "I sit around, drink beer and get paid for it." How cool is that? Stephen cites Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver & Victoria as the great beer hubs of Canada. To experience great Canadian beer, Stephen recommends the Festival Mondial de la Biere, held each June in Montreal, or the Great Canadian Beer Festival held each September in Victoria, BC.

Stephen is also co-owner of the beerbistro in Toronto, a restaurant that specializes in beer and food pairings. The Guys and Stephen talk about favorite beers, beer in history, beer styles and age-worthy beers. The Guys share a favorite haunt in New York City called dba, where you can enjoy an amazing selection of beers and ales and also "Cask Conditioned Ale," a particular favorite. Did you know that Stage Left was once listed in Michael Jackson's beer guide as one of the best places on the East Coast of The United States to buy Belgian beer?

The Restaurant Guys

Who Are The Restaurant Guys? Every week, Francis Schott and Mark Pascal host the Restaurant Guys, a show that's as informative as it is fun. Francis and Mark own Stage Left Restaurant in the heart of New Brunswick's theatre district, and, along with their expertise in a wide range of fine dining and wine matters, they bring to the table humor and intelligent conversation, perfect for the midday listener. The show includes discussions and interviews with famous chefs, restaurateurs, wine and food writers, critics; and the Guys even give stuff away occasionally.
